Herve Renard, a former Zambian coach, is the first manager to have a victory in both the men's and women's World Cups

In their second group stage match of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, France defeated Brazil 2-1 on Saturday at the Suncorp Stadium thanks to Wendie Renard, the women's captain of France.

After Debinha of Brazil had tied the score in the 58th minute, the French defender headed home Selma Bacha's corner to give France all three points.

Herve Renard, the current head coach of the France women's team, became the only manager to ever win a game in the FIFA World Cup competition for both the men's and women's teams as a consequence of the outcome.

During his tenure in Africa, Herve Renard guided Zambia and Ivory Coast to victories in the African Cup of Nations in 2012 and 2015, respectively, and he also qualified Morocco for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 20 years in 2018.
