George Alaba, the dad of Real Madrid footballer David Alaba, disclosed why he retired from music.

George, a Nigerian prince from Ogun State wedded to a Filipina woman, revealed that he claimed to be an artist signed to the same record company as famed musician Majek Fashek but left to oversee the careers of his children, footballer David Alaba and singer Rose May Alaba.

In an earlier conversation with Hitz 103.9 FM in Accra, Ghana, he revealed this.
He said: “I was very close to Felix Lebarty and Majek Fashek. We were all signed under Tabansi Records. I left Nigeria first, before Felix left for New York. We still stay in contact. Majek passed away but Felix is still alive.

“We rolled a lot. It was great. We had fun. Jide Obi was also in our crib at that time. Yeah, we had fun under Tabansi Records.”

Alaba continued: “When I got to Europe, we found a group. Afterwards, I started as a DJ. I was still in university then. We released about 14 singles, four LPs and one best-off. And we got Gold, we went on Platinum. It was a huge success.

“But, afterwards, God blessed me with two children. David developed in soccer. Due to the experience I have in the music industry, it gives me an idea to support what he likes. Then later on, come up on the sister [Rose May] and just to support what they like doing, I quit music just to manage them.”
