Declan Rice has completed his move from West Ham to Arsenal for a British record fee of £105 million.
West Ham's joint-chairman David Sullivan stated last month that the east London club had reached a gentleman's agreement with Rice to allow him to go this summer after he turned down a lucrative new contract offer.
The Hammers confirmed the England midfielder's exit from the club he joined a decade ago on Saturday afternoon, with Arsenal stating the deal had been finalised.
Rice's long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium makes him the most expensive English player in history, and it comes after the former Irons captain led his old side to victory in the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina.
Rice had written an open letter to West Ham fans earlier on Saturday, admitting that one of the reasons for his "tough" choice to depart was a desire to play in the Champions League, which Arsenal will do next season.
Rice made 245 appearances for the Irons, the last of which helped them win their first trophy since 1980.Rice is the latest addition to an Arsenal squad that has already been bolstered this summer, with the acquisition of Dutch defender Jurrien Timber revealed on Friday.
German international Kai Havertz has joined Arsenal from Chelsea, while France defenders William Saliba and Reiss Nelson have signed new long-term contracts with the club.
With Granit Xhaka leaving for Bayer Leverkusen, Rice's signing will strengthen Mikel Areta's midfield options as Arsenal attempt to plug their lead on Manchester City after becoming the runners-up in the Premier League last season.
