Manchester United have turned down a loan deal from West Ham for former captain Harry Maguire.
The London-based team is interested in acquiring out-of-favour defender Maguire this summer, but they feel his asking price of £50 million ($65 million) is too high.
West Ham are rumoured to be thinking about signing Maguire in a contract that might include an option to purchase.
If you recall that the English defender's wage was increased after Manchester United qualify for the Champions League, and the Hammers are unable to meet his demands.
Maguire has been advised by England manager Gareth Southgate that he must play consistently if he wants to join the Three Lions team for Euro 2024, which means he might be able to make a choice this summer.
On the other hand, Erik ten Hag has withdrawn the club captaincy from the defender in order to transfer him on.
