Mike Dean has made the decision to resign from the PGMOL, or Professional Game Match Officials Board.
His 28-year football career in England has come to an end.
Following a prominent stint as a referee in the top league, Dean worked as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the previous season.
The 55-year-old, though, has decided to stop refereeing Premier League games.
Dean allegedly judged to be "unsuited to VAR duties" following "showdown talks" with PGMOL chairman Howard Webb, according to the UK Telegraph.
Dean began his career as a referee in 1985, and in 2000, he was elevated to the Premier League.
Upon quitting his position as an ahead-field referee in 2022, he moved on to supervise more than 550 games.
