The veteran Spanish midfielder's arrival comes only a day after the arrival of his former colleague Lionel Messi.
Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets were teammates in Barcelona's first team for 13 years.
Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets will be entrusted with providing much-needed stability in the midfield.
He got a contract extension that will keep him on the squad until 2025.
Busquets departed Barcelona in summer, leaving the only club he had ever appeared for in his whole career.
He appeared in 721 games, earning every title imaginable and even played under Miami coach Tata Martino in the 2013-14 season. He also helped Spain win the World Cup in 2010.
Busquets is expected to make his Miami debut versus Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup on Friday.
Miami ranks lowest in the league with 18 points and has the Eastern Conference's third-worst defensive record, letting 36 goals in 22 games.
