Matt Turner, an American international goalkeeper for Arsenal, is nearing a £7 million transfer to Nottingham Forest.
The transaction will be beneficial to Arsenal as they try to work out a deal with Brentford for David Raya.
Last week, Arsenal made an offer of £23 million for Raya, a player valued at £40 million. However, the Gunners are hopeful that Brentford would accept a compromise offer of closer to £30 million.
Recall that Turner spent the previous season with Arsenal, but the American goalie did not play in the Premier League. Aaron Ramsdale was the excellent No. 1 goalkeeper at the Emirates.
Turner, 29, participated in seven cup games, but a transfer to Nottingham Forest would allow him to participate in more games bare in mind that the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
The USMNT's No. 1 goalkeeper, Matt Turner, earned 102 MLS appearances and most recently represented his nation in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
