Arsenal are likely to complete the acquisition of Brentford goalie David Raya in 48 hours.
It's been gathered that Matt Turner, Mikel Arteta's current backup, is anticipated to go on to Nottingham Forest.
Raya has been chased by Arsenal after being turned down by Tottenham, Chelsea, and Manchester United due to his original price demand, but Brentford have agreed to allow their stopper go for north London.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Arsenal is getting closer to signing Raya, who would likely replace Aaron Ramsdale as competition. Arsenal is reportedly in talks with Brentford after making an initial proposal of £20 million for the Spain international.
All summer long, as several of Arsenal's competitors expressed interest, Brentford had been demanding £40 million. Now that those parties have moved on, however, Thomas Frank's team could be forced to lower their demands in order to secure a transfer fee. This is because Raya only has one year left on his current contract while has turned down the chance to extend it.
Turner had been targeted by Forest, thus the Gunners are willing to let him go now that Raya has joined the club. The American chose to join Steve Cooper's team, and the two teams have verbally agreed on this.
