Inter Miami defeated Nashville SC in the championship game when Lionel Messi scored in the 23rd minute.
Following a 10-9 penalty shootout victory against Nashville, Inter Miami won the Leagues Cup, the first trophy in the club's history.
Barcelona saluted the iconic player on their official Twitter account.
Lionel Messi had enormous success at Barcelona, winning a club-record 34 trophies there, including four UEFA Champions League championships, seven Copa del Rey championships, and 10 La Liga championships.
