- Carlos Baleba has been acquired by Brighton in a deal for £23.2 million from Lille.
- Last year, Baleba was promoted to Lille's senior squad and contributed to their fifth-place Ligue 1 result.
- Ahead of Brighton's Premier League match against Newcastle this week, he will join the team.
Carlos Baleba has signed a five-year contract with Brighton and will be coming from Lille.
Following the signing of his contract for an unknown sum, the 19-year-old earned high acclaim from Seagulls manager Roberto de Zerbi, who referred to him as "the future of the club."
The midfielder, who shone for Lille in Ligue 1 last season, has signed a contract for an estimated $23.2 million.
He is reportedly going to meet up with the Brighton team before this weekend's Premier League match against Newcastle.
Prior to moving to the Premier League, Baleba appeared twice this season after appearing 19 times for Lille previous year.
The Cameroonian player, who is mostly a defensive midfielder, will probably try to succeed Moises Caicedo, who left the team for Chelsea in a £115 million move earlier this month.
