Roberto Mancini has been appointed as the new manager of Saudi Arabia.
Mancini's hiring, according to information, comes two weeks after his resignation as head coach of Italy.
The 58-year-old defeated England on penalties in the Euro 2020 championship game at Wembley to lead Italy to triumph.
Recall that despite the Azzurri's 37-game undefeated streak, they were unable to get to the 2022 World Cup.
In 2012, Mancini guided Manchester City to their first Premier League championship. The Italian manager has also had managerial positions at Galatasaray, Fiorentina, Lazio, Inter Milan, and Zenit St. Petersburg.
The former Manchester City coach has a deal with the Saudi Arabian squad until 2027, and his debut game in command will be against Costa Rica on September 8 at St. James' Park in Newcastle.
If you remember, Herve Renard's Saudi Arabia earlier stunned eventual winners Argentina in a 2-1 victory in Qatar, but they were unable to go beyond the group round.
