James Ward-Prowse, the captain of Southampton, has officially moved from Southampton to West Ham.
After joining West Ham, James Ward-Prowse decided not to wear the No. 16 jersey.
It's been said that since Mark Noble's retirement from football in 2022, the number has been vacant.
Ward-Prowse chose the No. 7 jersey, which is tied to David Beckham in the Premier League. Because Ward-Prowse has joined West Ham, Beckham is important because his free-kick record is open for grabs.
The 28-year-old needs one more goal for Manchester United to match Beckham's Premier League total of 18 goals.
David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, fought hard for this £30 million transfer to happen because Ward-Prowse is an artist with dead balls.
Following Southampton's relegation from the Premier League last season, the 28-year-old has signed a four-year contract to join David Moyes' team.
