Kevin De Bruyne ruled out of Man City's UEFA Super Cup clash with SevillaKevin De Bruyne will not be playing for Manchester City against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup.

The midfielder previously sustained a second hamstring injury in the season's first league game.

The triple champions began their Premier League season on Friday night with a victory against Burnley, but Kevin De Bruyne left the game with an injury.

City defeated Burnley at Turf Moore to start their Premier League championship defense.

The 36th minute saw the Belgian international leave the pitch after Erling Haaland had doubled his team's advantage with two goals.

Then, in the second half, Rodri scored a third goal to give Pep Guardiola's team three points.

If you recall that De Bruyne had earlier hobbled off during the team's victory in the Champions League final against Inter Milan in June, and manager Pep Guardiola had said it was the same ailment that had returned.

For Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup match in Athens, Guardiola selected a 22-man roster.

Kyle Walker, Kalvin Phillips, John Stones, Nathan Ake, Mateo Kovacic, Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Aymeric Laporte, Rodrigo, Stefan Ortega Moreno, Julian Alvarez, Sergio Gomez, Josko Gvardiol, Manuel Akanji, Ederson, Maximo Perrone, Scott Carson, Phil Foden, Oscar Bobb, Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis, James McAtee.
