Man City 'agree six-year deal with Lucas Paqueta'

Lucas Paqueta, a midfielder for West Ham United, has reportedly agreed to accept a six-year deal with Manchester City.

Following the additions of Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol earlier this summer, the 25-year-old has become the Citizens' top target.

Prior to completing a club-record £51 million transfer from Lyon to West Ham last summer, Paqueta was on Man City's radar.

In 41 games for the Hammers during the 2022–23 season, the Brazil international scored five goals and supplied seven assists as David Moyes' team marked winning the Europa Conference League.

West Ham reportedly rejected Man City's verbal bid of £60 million to £70 million for Paqueta earlier this week.

Paqueta's contract is said to have an £85 million release clause, although it won't go into effect until the summer of 2024.

Moyes has stated that West Ham has received a bid from Man City for Paqueta, but the triple champions have not yet agreed to pay the club's asking price. West Ham sold Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105 million earlier this summer.
