Pep Guardiola has claimed that he was in charge of choosing the penalty takers in Manchester City's Uefa Super Cup win against Sevilla
In Athens, the game ended in a draw after 90 minutes when Nemanja Gudelj of Sevilla struck the crossbar from 12 yards, Manchester City converted all five of their penalty kicks to win the cup.
Guardiola claimed credit for the shootout's result, claiming that he selected all five shooters in contrast to the setback suffered by the treble winners against Arsenal when he let the players make the decision.
He told TNT Sports: 'This time, they didn’t choose who were the takers, I chose the takers.'

Recall that during City's Community Shield loss to Arsenal, both Kevin de Bruyne and Rodri's penalty kicks against Arsenal at Wembley were unsuccessful, enabling Fabio Vieira to score the game-winning kick.
In the meanwhile, Manchester City defeated Sevilla and scored all five of their penalty kick goals to win the Super Cup for the first time ever.
Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish, Mateo Kovacic, Julian Alvarez, and Erling Haaland all scored goals against Sevilla to give their team the win.
