Borja Iglesias, a Spanish striker, resigned the men's national team on Friday because Luis Rubiales, the director of the federation, refused to resign after being seen lip-kissing a Women's World Cup star.
The Real Betis striker, who has twice played for his nation, most recently in March, objected to the decision of the RFEF's president to remain in office.
On Sunday, Spain overcame England 1-0 to win the championship in Sydney. Rubiales, 46, then outraged the world by grabbing Hermoso by the head and kissing her during the medal presentation.
