The talk about Rayan Cherki joining Chelsea has been in the news since the end of last season, and there is probably a good reason why his name keeps popping up in the recent transfer market as with a heightened speculation of him being a Chelsea player next season. 

As of a few minutes ago, according to football transfer, it was learnt that the agents of Rayan Cherki are currently in London and holding talks with the representatives of both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. 

It is understood, as reported by football.london that both clubs are looking to reach an agreement but it is yet to be seen as to which club will finally land the player who has been called the next Eden Hazard. 

The £35 million price tag on the Lyon youngster who turned 20 on the 17th of August has not changed. But according to the same report that could be a major stumbling block for any club that wants to sign the french player because of the financial restrictions  that have been placed on Lyon. 

According to Jonathan Johnson, a french football expert in an interview with caughtoffside,He said "Rayan Cherki continues to attract speculation and the latest is that Chelsea are in for him.

"He’s a very exciting talent, somebody who looks to have a great career ahead of him. Similarly to Eden Hazard when he first established himself in Ligue 1, he looks very technically skilled, versatile, and he’s probably the best young player to emerge from Lyon’s youth academy for many years, possibly even since Karim Benzema.

"The only problem with players at Lyon at the moment is the club’s current financial situation – they’ve had limits imposed on them by French football’s financial watchdog. Lyon now have to raise funds, but they’re also very reluctant to cash in on some of their young talent."

Rayan Cherki has already become a huge favorite among the Chelsea faithful through recent months especially as he is continually linked with the club. He is certainly the kind of player Chelsea would want to have in their team come next season. He is young, has great dribbling skills and also has eyes for goals.
