Fabrizio Romano reports Tottenham Hotspur hasn't yet submitted a proposal for Gift Orban, despite the club being prominently linked to a move this summer.
If you recall that Harry Kane left Tottenham earlier this month to join Bayern Munich. Although Orban has been mentioned, Romano insists that the rumors of a candidacy are untrue.
Gift Orban has been a popular option among Tottenham fans who need a new striker before the transfer market closes on Friday.
The brilliant Nigerian striker, who is just 21 years old, led Gent in scoring last season with 20 goals across all competitions. This season, he has six in seven games.
In fact, Fabrizio Romano said last week that Orban is open to moving to North London. Spurs have been widely linked with a move to capture Orban this month.
But according to Romano, recent rumours from Belgium that suggested Spurs had made a move to sign Orban were inaccurate.
The sport journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that: “The priority is to sign an offensive player. We know they have to replace Harry Kane. They considered Gift Orban for a long time but they never sent an official bid.
“We had reports from Belgium about an official bid, it was last week or 10 days ago, but I’m told this is not true. Tottenham never sent an official bid.
“They considered that possibility, like they considered also Jonathan David who is a player they always appreciated, but they never presented an official bid.”
