What Jurgen Klopp said about Marc Allister injury during defeat to Bayern Munich in friendly

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided update on the injury of Alexis Mac Allister.

During Liverpool's preseason match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, Alexis Mac Allister took a hit that Jürgen Klopp allayed fears over.

The midfielder from Argentina left the pitch at halftime of the Reds' 4-3 loss against the Bundesliga winners in Singapore after receiving a minor knee injury.

At his news conference after the game, Klopp said:

"Yeah, knee on knee. He could have played on.

"So firstly I got the information that it's too painful, so that was then clear that we will change. There's no need to push him through."

The Reds will kick off their Premier League campaign against Chelsea next week.

Jurgen Klopp will hope that the Argentina international will ne available for his debut match after he joined Liverpool this summer.

Klopp added: "When I spoke afterwards, he said, 'No, no, I would have been fine.' But we didn't want to go [with] any risks. It's just knee on knee, bruise, that's it. It was fine."
