Gabriela Cavallin wants to see ex-lover Antony banned from Manchester United's team in a similar way to how Mason Greenwood was while he is under investigation for suspected domestic violence and abuse
During their two-year romance, which ended earlier in 2023, DJ and influencer Cavallin, 22, allegedly claimed Antony was physically and emotionally abusive in a police complaint she made in her home Brazil in June.
Since then, two more women have come forward with allegations against Antony, and as a result of the continuing investigations, the former Ajax winger was removed from Brazil's team for two World Cup qualifiers.
The Greater Manchester Police acknowledged that it is aware of the claims made and that further inquiries are being conducted. Cavallin, though, is certain that Antony's employers act now and take the same safety precautions they did when Greenwood was first suspected of crimes in January 2022.
“Antony needs to be taken off the pitch," she told The Sun. "It’s disappointing he’s still allowed to play while there’s an investigation.
“I am absolutely destroyed by the whole process. How can life go on as normal for him? They can’t just know what they know now and not do anything. He needs to be removed.”
21-year-old Greenwood was detained in January 2022 and subsequently accused with attempting to rape, coercively controlling someone, and assault resulting in real bodily damage.
Even though the one-cap England international's charges were dismissed in February 2023, United has chosen to remain distant from the player, who has been sent to Getafe on loan for the year.
“I will do everything in my power. I will not give up. People need to be held accountable," added Cavallin.
“It doesn’t matter what profession or how famous someone might be. If they took action against his team-mate, I don’t see why Antony should be treated differently.
