Jonny Evans' performance for Manchester United against Burnley earned accolades from Erik ten Hag.
Due to Rafael Varane and Lisandro Martinez's injuries, the seasoned defender was given the starting position for the Red Devils' journey to Turf Moor.
Jonny Evans, a defender for Manchester United, made an outstanding performance against Burnley on the road to commemorate his 200th game for the team.
Erik Ten Hag said: “He can bring organization, communication”.
Due to Lisandro Martinez's untimely injury, the 35-year-old center defender unexpectedly started the Clarets match at Turf Moor.
Raphael Varane was back in the lineup, so some supporters were upset that Evans was given the start, but the Northern Irishman showed his value.
“He's calm, he knows the work and he knows what to do. He will get the job done to replace Lisandro who’s injured”, ten Hag added.
Evans gave United the lead with a spectacular headed goal, but Rasmus Hojlund's offside position meant that the goal had to be disallowed.
But just before halftime, the seasoned player used his left foot to throw a long ball that Bruno Fernandes volleyed in with perfection.
In the meanwhile, Erik ten Hag's team will want to build on this success before their home doubleheader against Crystal Palace. Prior to the league encounter on Saturday afternoon, they host them on Tuesday night in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
