Brother of Palhinha says Fulham simply 'postponed' dream transfer to Bayern
According to Joao Palhinha's family, Fulham has just 'postponed' the midfielder's move to Bayern Munich.
In order to complete a £55 million deal to the Bundesliga heavyweights, the Portugal international traveled to Germany around the end of the summer transfer window.
The transaction was canceled by Fulham because they were unable to identify a suitable substitute before the German window closed at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Prior to being summoned back to London, Palhinha was scheduled to get a medical exam and engage in media activities in Bavaria.
Goncalo, Palhinha's brother, said on Instagram: 'What about Munich? They didn't kill the dream they just postponed it.
'Words of appreciation, recognition and thanks to the entire @fcbayern structure.
'If we alreaady knew how big the club was, the bigger it is after we left it regardless of what happened.
'The respect and affection of the people of the Bayern structure who accompanied us, marked us by the difference in respect, honesty and professionalism.'
In Fulham's 5-1 loss to Manchester City on Saturday, Palhinha did not play.
Despite his desperate attempts to finalize the transfer to Bayern, he is now expected to stay with the Cottagers at least until January.
