Last night, Portugal improved on its previous three 8-0 victories. Fernandes set the example as led his team to as emphatic win in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo who missed out due to suspension.
Manchester United's star was personally involved in four of the nine goals, with three assists and one goal.
Jota, Gonçalo Ramos and Gonçalo Inácio scored two goals each for Portugal.
