Germany has fired manager Hansi Flick barely nine months before the commencement of the European Championships in their home country next summer.
On Saturday, the former manager of Bayern Munich saw his team lose disgracefully to Japan at home by a score of 4-1.
Germany has lost four of its past five games, including a group-stage loss at the World Cup last year.
Marcus Sorg and Danny Rohl, Flick's assistant coaches, have both been fired with immediate effect.
Hannes Wolf, Sandro Wagner, and Rudi Voller, who led Germany from 2000 to 2004, will oversee Tuesday's exhibition match in Dortmund against France.
Since taking over for Joachim Low in August 2021, who he assisted from 2006 to 2014, Flick has won only 12 of his 25 matches.
