Immigration office comes under fire after pictures of Davido's father spotted at their office

On X, the social networking site previously known as Twitter, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) posted something that has been followed by comments that range from the snarky to the vitriolic.

Adedeji Adeleke, the father of famous artist and afrobeats vocalist David Adeleke, popular by his performer's name "Davido," was cordially welcomed and attended to by immigration authorities in Osun state.

Some X users have commented on the tweet to inquire as to why they or their fathers do not get the same treatment as they line up at passport agencies nationwide to renew, apply for, or pick up passports.

Although successive governments and immigration officials have promised to make the application, renewal, and retrieval processes for passports in Nigeria quicker and less difficult they are often slow and disorganized.
