Sadly, Lionel Messi had to leave the family's pet Bordeaux Mastiff in his Barcelona house when he moved to the MLS.
The seven-year-old mutt's health played a role in the decision to leave Hulk behind, Argentine comedian Migue Granados revealed this past weekend after interviewing the 2023 World Cup winner at his Miami residence.
Following last Thursday's interview for his show on the streaming network OLGA, Granados made a joke about packing their beloved poodle Abu into a bag and demanding a large ransom. This is when Granados learnt of the family's choice.
'I asked him where that bull was and he told me, 'He's in Barcelona, Hulk is there. He is a little old. So, we had to leave him in the house we have there in Barcelona,' Granados shared.
However, he was taken aback when the Hulk failed to appear.
The Argentine soccer player said to comedian Migue Granados that he decided to remain behind at his house in Spain where he could take care of the dog because of its age and condition.
Bordeaux was Lionel Messi's pet. Hulk the Mastiff is a seven-year-old dog. They typically survive between five and eight years, while some have been known to live as long as 11.
It is believed that Bordeaux Mastiffs may reach adult heights of 27 inches and weights of 110 pounds. Although some live to be 11, their lifespan is between five and eight years.
Hulk is now being taken care of by the employees at the opulent house in Castelldefels, a neighborhood 12 kilometers from Cam Nou.
