The former Dutch manager said that the winger's training performances were subpar.
The 23-year-old disagreed with the Dutchman's tactician and said he had been "a scapegoat for a long time."
Recall that Sancho transferred from Borussia Dortmund to Old Trafford in 2021 for £73 million.
However, Sancho has had trouble maintaining his form after the transition, and in his 58 Premier League games, he has managed only nine goals and six assists.
Last season Sancho spent three months fighting physical and mental concerns, with Ten Hag at one stage declaring the England international was not healthy enough to play.
United said in a statement Sancho would be on a "personal training programme away from the first team".
He returned to play in the EFL Cup semi-final triumph over Nottingham Forest on 1 February and a week later started a comeback against Leeds United in the Premier League, scoring the equaliser in a 2-2 draw.
The statement added that the decision was made "pending resolution of a squad discipline issue."
The English international has played three times as a substitute this season, with United going 2-2 in their first four Premier League games.
