Mason Greenwood participated in his first open training session as a Getafe player this morning after the completion of his deadline-day transfer to the La Liga team.
Since December 2021, Greenwood has not participated in a competitive game of football. This is because he was suspended by Manchester United in the aftermath of his arrest in January 2022.
The Crown Prosecution Service withdrew the attempted rape and assault charges against the footballer in February 2023 as a result of the removal of crucial witnesses.
In August, after concluding their internal inquiry into the player's behavior, Man United and the striker, 21, mutually decided that his career should'recommence' outside of Old Trafford.
Getafe won't charge the forward a fee, but it will contribute a tiny amount toward his salaries throughout the loan's term.
Greenwood, a product of the United system, scored 35 goals in 129 games with the Red Devils.
Greenwood has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2025, with an option to extend another year.
