Mikel Arteta confirms Thomas Partey injury ahead of Arsenal vs Man Utd

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Thomas Partey will be unavailable for Arsenal vs Manchester United clash.

The Gunners host Erik Den Hag side at the Emirates stadium on Sunday in their match day 5 Premier league fixture. 

Recall that it was reported during the week that the former Atlético Madrid star picked up an injury during training. 

Thomas Partey injury became obvious after the Ghana Football Association confirmed that the 30-year-old has been excluded from Black Stars call up for the international break. 

Ahead of the EPL match against Manchester United, Mikel Arteta said that Partey sustained the injury in training. 

The Spanish boss added that Partey will need to undergo further test to determine the extent of his injury. 

 Arteta said:"We need a few more tests - he felt something in training."

This means that Mikel Arteta has reverted to his traditional back four, Ben White who has been playing center-back will play right back while Gabriel Magalhaes makes his first appearance to pair William Saliba. 

Since the new Premier league campaign, Mikel Arteta has used Thomas Partey as inverted right back. 

Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Rice, Odegaard, Havertz, Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli.

Man Utd XI: Onana, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Martinez, Dalot, Casemiro, Eriksen, Fernandes, Antony, Martial, Rashford
