Terkimbi Ggbaden Omori, a well-known Nigerian cinematographer and music video director better known by his stage name TG Omori, publicly disclosed the cause of his decision to cease making music videos for Asake, an Afrobeat singer and songwriter.
In a recent podcast, TG Omori admitted that people do occasionally decide to take a break from something.
TG Omori added that despite the numerous videos they had produced together, Asake was free to choose another filmmaker if he wanted to shoot his music video.
He said, "Even husband and wife dey divorce, people actually do decide to take a break from something. I feel like we have done a lot of videos together, we have done like 10 to 12 videos with features and everything".
"We have shot a lot of videos and i mean we are still very cool, we have seen a couple of times and we are very cool, there is really nothing but like I mean let the young man explore still and I'm doing my thing. You know it's a business, at the end of the day you need to respect your client's decision, you will always be here doing your thing, it has happened series of times".
"One thing I love about myself is that I like when artistes have their freedom, I want you to wake up one day and feel that freedom to wanna also try new things, I don't want situation whereby because we are guys you must shoot with me, to me I feel like I'm boxing you, do you understand".
"So like the reason why that happened, I don't know, we don't know, everybody have their reasons but it's still beautiful to see you know, take a break do your thing, I'm doing my thing everybody is happy", TG Omori added.
