Manchester United has officially given Sofyan Amrabat a new squad number.The 27-year-old midfielder was rumored to be moving to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window as United looked to bolster the team's shaky midfield in the off-season.
Manchester United announced earlier today that Amrabat has now been given the number 4 jersey on social media.
Amrabat's absence prevented him from playing in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Arsenal for United, postponing the midfielder's debut until after the international break. Amrabat may make his debut on Saturday, September 16, when Manchester United face Brighton Hove Albion.
Amrabat will be the first United player since Phil Jones, who left the team, to wear the number 4 jersey in the Premier League if he plays against the Seagulls.
