AS Roma owner Dan Friedkin is allegedly contemplating firing Jose Mourinho if the Giallorossi lose their next encounter against Cagliari.
Friedkin is willing to make this choice depending on the team's performance in their Sunday away game, according to reporting from Il Corriere dello Sport.
According to the publication, the decision to fire Mourinho was first taken after Roma's 4-1 defeat to Genoa on September 28.
Friedkin was persuaded to give Mourinho another opportunity by director Tiago Pinto.
Hans-Dieter Flick, the former coach of Bayern Munich and the German national team, is now reportedly Friedkin's first choice to succeed Mourinho.
Roma has had a difficult Serie A season thus far, winning only twice in their first seven league games.
Despite winning both of their early games in the Europa League, they have faced intense criticism for their domestic performance.
