Khaid, a popular musician also known as Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, recalled pleading with his buddy, Rema, to show Don Jazzy his freestyle video.
The singer said that while he was a struggling musician trying to be signed to Mavin Records, he sent Rema DM to connect him to music boss, Don Jazzy.
In the meanwhile, Khaid revealed this on the most recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast. Khaid is now signed to the label Neville Records, owned by comedian Sydney Talker.
Khaid continued by saying that he was so anxious that he offered Rema his very first N1 million in exchange for helping him get a record contract with Mavin, but the latter never responded to his messages.
He said, “Rema if you are seeing this, please take heart. I actually went to Rema’s [Instagram] DM one day with my old account and sent my freestyle video to him. I said, ‘Bro, I know that you trap like me. Please, help me show this video to Don Jazzy. Let him sign me so that we will be in the same record label.’
“He didn’t see the message. At that time, I was texting him with all emotions in me, bro. I was texting him with prayers. I was willing to give him my first 1 million.”
