In advance of the 2021–2022 season, the 24-year-old midfielder made the loan deal permanent.

Last season, Odegaard was named captain of Arsenal and helped the Gunners finished second in the Premier League table.

The Norway international was voted the best player for the year by the Arsenal fans.

Odegaard has finally acknowledged that switching to Arsenal from Los Blancos was the smartest move.

“My time in Madrid was good. It was a positive stage, although perhaps some might think otherwise.
