Mauricio Pochettino has issued an update on Reece James' prospects of playing against Arsenal on Saturday.

This weekend, Chelsea will play in a London derby against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge to return to Premier League action.

The team led by Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to build on their outstanding run of results after winning their last three games.

Pochettino was there to provide an upbeat report on skipper Reece James on Friday.

The Chelsea defender has reportedly been out since the opening game of the season, despite hopes that he may play again after the international break.

"We need to assess now because we've finished our training session a little bit late," the Argentine said.

Pochettino also revealed that Niclas Jackson and Alex Disasi are expected to face late fitness test.

He said,"We need to assess Axel Disasi, we need to assess Nico, Nicolas Jackson. We need to assess also Reece [James]."

Also, Chelsea have been dealt huge blow after Armando Broja is ruled out with injury on his knee.

The striker just returned from lengthy ACL injury which kept him out since last year.

Pochettino added, "[Armando] Broja is out, he has a little rotation problem in his knee, the problem from the past. We have a few players that we need to assess to see if they're available, if they can play, if they're on the bench or if they're off the list completely."

Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea's head coach, also said that Trevoh Chalobah and Carney Chukwuemeka both had difficulties in their recuperation.

Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, and Christopher Nkunku are all sidelined due to long-term injuries.

Romeo Lavia, who has not yet made his club debut, is still recovering from an ankle injury.
