Napoli's coach Rudi Garcia reveals reason Victor Osimhen didn't take the penalty against Leece

Rudi Garcia explains why Osimhen chose not to take a penalty in Napoli's victory against Leece.

The penalty that was given to Napoli in their 4-0 victory over Leece was not taken by Victor Osimhen, according to manager Rudi Garcia.

Following the TikTok video making fun of his mistake against Bologna, Osimhen, Napoli's usual penalty taker, declined the duty for a second game in a row.

It was reported that Victor Osimhen replaced Giovanni Simeone after the interval and added a second goal for the Partenopei in the 51st minute. 

“Not today, he (Osimhen) was not the first choice seeing as he didn’t start the game, but someone else handed it to Politano. In any case, I usually write a list so there is an order and no war over who takes a penalty,” Garcia said after the game.

“Here it feels like the reverse, they are in a race to hand the ball over to someone else, I think I like it better that way!”
