Sandro Tonali was handed a ten-month suspension for his involvement in football wagering when he was playing in Italy.

In addition, he needs to get therapy for his addiction to gambling.

If you recall that Tonali moved from AC Milan to Newcastle in July for £55 million.

Nicolo Fagioli, a midfield player for Juventus, was banned from the FIGC for seven months earlier this month for violating betting regulations.

Since joining the Magpies as the second most expensive acquisition, Tonali has played twelve games for Eddie Howe's team.

It's been gathered that Tonali was fined 20,000 euros (£17,380) by the FIGC after it was found that he had broken the regulation that forbids players from putting bets on football matches that are sanctioned by the FIGC, Uefa, and Fifa.

While Fagioli who plays for Juventus in Serie A was fined 12,500 euros (£10,850) and had five months of his one-year sentence postponed. In order to address his gambling addiction, Fagioli also consented to a minimum six-month rehabilitation schedule.

On October 12, Tonali and fellow midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo—who is on loan at Aston Villa from Galatasaray—left Italy's training camp; they were informed that Italian prosecutors were looking into their case.
