In a brand-new Netflix docuseries, English football icon David Beckham and his wife Victoria discussed prior rumors of adultery.
This information was provided by BECKHAM's director, a four-part documentary on the football player's life both on and off the field that will debut next week. He said that when he inquired about David's alleged past infidelity, "it wasn't pleasant."
Since they first met in 1997, the pair has been in love. They were married in 1999, and they have four children together. Although the happy couple may now have one of the healthiest marriages in entertainment, rumors that David had extramarital relationships dogged the couple in the early 2000s.
The now-defunct News of the World reported Rebecca Loos' allegations that she and David had an adulterous affair in April 2004. Following David's 2003 move from Manchester United to Real Madrid, Rebecca said the relationship started when she was given the responsibility of taking care of him in Spain.
Rebecca said that her four-month love liaison with Becks occurred without Victoria's knowledge. Although the now-46-year-old's charges were never confirmed and David at the time called them "ludicrous," he never took legal action against Rebecca or the News of the World.
Despite having previously refuted the accusation, they have remained silent on other scandals until now. In the new Netflix series, the legendary pair spoke about their relationship, with the director Fisher Stevens seeming to reveal that no topic was off limits when it came to probing inquiries.
Fisher said;
"It wasn't pleasant, but we got into it. For me, I approached it as 'How did your marriage stay together?' and you'll see how he responds. I talked with both of them about the difficulties they went through."
Producer of BECKHAM John Battsek also said that Victoria was questioned on potential marital issues.
Battsek said;
"They were both signed up to telling us whatever we wanted to know. I'm sure you'll say, 'Of course you would say that.' But they were. There was no 'You will not ask that or do that'. Fisher and I thought that might be the case, but we were clear from the start that we would only do this if we could go in any direction we wanted. And we did."
