The actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has considered his flaws, such as the relationship he had with his family's maid.
Arnold called his 2011 divorce from Maria Shriver, which resulted from an affair with maid Mildred Baena, his "f-k up" in an interview with People magazine that was published on Sunday, October 1.
Five days after the former California Governor had son Christopher with Shriver, Schwarzenegger and Baena had a child together, Joseph.
Schwarzenegger, 76, said he and the journalist, 67, are still friendly despite the revelation that led to the dissolution of their marriage. He stated: “It’s just my f–k up. Remember it’s not like we had a feud. My chapter with Maria will continue on forever. Even though it’s a different relationship, there’s no reason for me to feel anything other than love for her.
“We always made it very clear that the kids should not suffer because of [the affair]. And she has her things, her relationship, I have mine [with Heather Milligan], but we always communicate about the kids, about the holidays, about birthday parties and Mother’s Day parties and Christmas.”
But since Schwarzenegger and Shriver didn't have a prenuptial agreement and there was a complicated property settlement to work out, their divorce wasn't completed until 2021.
In 2013, Schwarzenegger and physical therapist Heather Milligan became a couple. Despite having a 27-year age gap, the two are still together and doing well.
While Shriver moved on with political expert Matthew Dowd, their relationship is reported to have ended in late 2020.
