The dead singer Ilerioluwa Aloba (also known as Mohbad) had been living with singer Azeez Fashola (also known as Naira Marley) since December 2019, according to Mr. Joseph Aloba, the deceased's father, who testified in coroner's court on Wednesday.
During a coroner's inquest about his son's death, Joseph gave testimony.
The musician passed away on September 12 and was buried on September 13. The man's age was 27.
The scandal surrounding his death led the Lagos State Government to order a coroner's inquest.
The Ikorodu Magistrate's Court in Lagos State is the venue of the inquest, which got underway on October 13.
Joseph revealed to Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, the coroner, that he and his son had shared a home for eighteen years.
He said he was unaware of the precise residence his late son shared with Marley.
In his testimony, he said that his son moved out of the home when he was old enough to provide permission and started helping Marley launch his own music career.
Three days before to the deceased's passing, Joseph claimed to have seen him.
The deceased's coffin, he said, was only visible in an image.
He said that his son gave him confidence that he could resolve his conflict with Marley.
Joseph said in his testimony that his mother-in-law was in charge of the deceased's landed property and that the dead often informed him about the belongings that his wife and her family had.
When they resided with Marley, he said that Mohbad's wife had injected sleeping drugs into his meals.
