Manchester United's Erik ten Hag recently hailed Alejandro Garnacho's sensational overhead kick in their victory against Everton as a potential frontrunner for the Premier League's Goal of the Season.

Garnacho's acrobatic strike within the opening minutes set the tone for United's triumph at Goodison Park. Although Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial later secured goals, Ten Hag was effusive in his praise for Garnacho's exceptional display, emphasizing not just the finish but also the seamless teamwork that led to the goal.

Ten Hag elaborated further in post-match remarks, acknowledging his team's confidence and composure but also highlighting moments where United became passive, allowing Everton chances.

Ten Hag said: ‘It was a fantastic goal. This season, there are many games to play, but probably already that is the goal of the season. Not only the finish, the total move from the back to the end. My players were very confident, very composed. Well done to the team."

Nonetheless, he commended his team's proactive second-half performance that culminated in two impressive goals.

He added, ‘Then we went passive. Too easy going, too comfortable. Everton created some chances. But in the second half, we were proactive. It was a very good performance and we scored two very good goals.’
