16-Year-Old Wonderkid Shines for Spain, Continuing Goal-Scoring Streak
Lamine Yamal, the prodigious talent from Barcelona, showcased his prowess once again by scoring a remarkable goal for Spain during their 3-1 victory over Cyprus in the Euro 2024 qualifying match.
The 16-year-old wonderkid secured his second international goal in just three appearances for the Spanish national team, reaffirming his burgeoning talent and impact on the football stage.
If you recall that Yamal etched his name in history earlier in April when he became the youngest player ever to represent Barcelona at a mere age of 15. His stellar debut at Camp Nou against Real Betis marked the commencement of what promises to be a remarkable career.
In August, Yamal received his maiden call-up to the Spanish squad and made an impressive impact by scoring on his international debut against Georgia in a resounding 7-1 win during the Euro 2024 qualifiers. This achievement solidified his status as La Roja's youngest-ever player and scorer.
Continuing his remarkable journey, in his third appearance for Luis de la Fuente's squad, the teenager exhibited his skills once more, netting a goal in the 3-1 triumph over Cyprus. Displaying remarkable composure on the right side of the area, he deceived both the goalkeeper and a defender with a feigned shot before calmly slotting the ball home, showcasing his exceptional abilities.
Meanwhile Mikel Oyarzabal and Joselu contributed to Spain's lead, securing a 3-0 advantage within the first 30 minutes in Limasol.
Although Cyprus managed a late consolation goal through Kostas Pileas, but Spain emerged victorious in a match where Yamal's performance stole the spotlight once again.
