Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface contributed two assists as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Hoffenheim 3-2 at PreZero Arena.
In the middle of the week, Boniface was benched during Bayer Leverkusen's 5-2 DFB Pokal victory against Sandhausen.
Bayer Leverkusen took the lead with a low effort from Florian Wirtz, who has been in excellent form this season, after they connected nicely in the box with Victor Boniface.
Then, in the 45th minute, Alejandro Grimaldo scored the second goal after hitting a beautiful strike from beyond the area.
But in the second half, Leverkusen gave up, giving up goals from Anton Stach and Wout Weghorst twice.
Again, in the seventieth minute, Boniface caused chaos. He set up Grimaldo with a brilliantly timed pass, and the Spaniard hit the ball with passion from the edge of the box.
Leverkusen regained the lead as the ball inched its way into the Hoffenheim goal.
