- Como Secures Win Under Interim Coach Cesc Fabregas' Debut in Serie B
Cesc Fabregas, the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder, marked his managerial debut with a triumphant victory as Como's interim head coach in a Serie B encounter against Feralpisalo at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigalia.
Despite still working on his UEFA coaching badges, Fabregas took charge after his recent appointment as the interim head coach of Como, a club he had previously played for and managed their Primavera under-19 team.
The match saw Como take the lead within three minutes through a goal by Lucas Da Cunha. However, the tie leveled in the 52nd minute as Feralpisalo managed to secure an equalizer.
Despite the setback, Fabregas' side fought hard, especially after a potential goal was reviewed by VAR, resulting in a clash between the two teams near the dugout. Amidst the chaos, red cards were shown to Feralpisalo's Gaetano Letizia and Daniele Baselli, and the goal was disallowed.
However, Como secured the victory late in the game, with Alessandro Gabrielloni netting the winning goal five minutes before full time. This win propelled Como to fourth place in the Serie B table after 13 matches, sitting just one point behind Cremonese with a game in hand.
