Music artiste Portable unequivocally stated his refusal to resort to faking his death for album promotion, as he addressed recent speculation surrounding rapper Oladips' alleged demise being used as a promotional tactic.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, Portable made his stance clear amidst swirling rumors that Oladips, supposedly announced dead on Tuesday, might still be alive. The speculation gained traction after Oladips' management released his album merely two days after his reported death.
Adding to the confusion, Oladips' colleague Qdot took to Instagram, asserting the rapper's existence by sharing a picture with the caption, "My gee is still alive."
Reacting to the controversy, Portable took to video format, reiterating his principled stand against using one's death to gain album publicity.
The announcement of Oladips' death surfaced on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, via a brief statement shared on the rapper's Instagram by his management. The statement revealed the 28-year-old rapper's purported battle within himself leading to his demise on Tuesday.
