During Saturday's game at St James' Park, Chelsea's performance faltered, resulting in a 4-1 defeat against Eddie Howe's Newcastle side. Silva, among the players, made an error leading to one of the goals, after Alexander Isak initially gave Newcastle the lead, countered only by Raheem Sterling's free-kick goal.
However, Newcastle swiftly increased their advantage with two rapid goals in the second half. Chelsea's woes continued as Reece James received a second yellow card, reducing the team to ten players.
Anthony Gordon's fourth goal compounded the mystery surrounding Chelsea's subpar performance. Silva, 38, took to Twitter to express his regret, extending apologies to both fans and teammates.
He tweeted, "I'm devastated. It wasn't a good day for us. I would like to apologize to everyone for the defeat, especially to my teammates who believe in me and support me every day. I take full responsibility. Let's gather strength and come back stronger"
Notably, Silva's handling error allowed Joelinton to capitalize, scoring Newcastle's third goal in the encounter.
