Dele Alli Nearing Everton Comeback After Lengthy Injury, Sean Dyche Affirms Midfielder's Return to Training
Dele Alli edges closer to making his return to competitive action, as the Everton midfielder has resumed training on grass, signaling a significant stride in his recovery from a persistent groin injury that sidelined him since February.
Everton manager Sean Dyche, who welcomed Alli back into the squad following his loan stint at Besiktas, provided an update on the player's progress.
"He is making good progress," Dyche stated ahead of Everton's impending clash against Newcastle. "He's back on the grass, engaging in football-specific drills under the guidance of the sports science and fitness team. However, he's not yet at the stage to fully join us in training sessions."
"Hopefully, in the upcoming week, we'll gradually integrate him. Given his prolonged absence, there's still ground to cover; he requires a structured game plan to regain his match fitness. Nevertheless, reintegrating him into our squad will be immensely gratifying for him, considering his unfortunate spell on the sidelines."
