In preparation for their upcoming weekend showdown against West Ham, currently positioned in 8th place, Manchester United faces challenges with several sidelined players.

Confirming the status of Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro in a Friday media briefing, Erik ten Hag disclosed, "Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro are not available. We anticipate their return in mid-January."

Mason Mount, who has been absent since sustaining an injury last month, continues to be a concern for the English midfielder, who has faced challenges since joining Manchester United from Chelsea at the beginning of the season.

Erik ten Hag revealed that both Mount and Harry Maguire will miss the Wolves game. Despite Maguire's recent resurgence and winning the Player of the Month for November, an injury suffered against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League last week sidelines the 30-year-old defender temporarily.

Looking ahead, Ten Hag stated, "Mason Mount is expected to return in January, and I anticipate an early return for Maguire."

In unfortunate news, Victor Lindelof, having undergone surgery, will be sidelined for an extended period. Erik ten Hag concluded, "Victor Lindelof is not available; he has undergone surgery and will be out for a couple of weeks."

Consequently, Manchester United will rely on the defensive duo of Rafael Varane and Jonny Evans, who demonstrated their experience by keeping a clean sheet in last week's goalless draw with Liverpool.
