
Erik Ten Hag handed 19 years old Willy Kambwala his debut in the Premier League against West Ham
Erik ten Hag left many Manchester United fans surprised when he named the academy player in the first team.
Willy Kambwala starts in the center back along with Jonny Evans following injuries to Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof who are ruled out until next year.
Speaking on the reason he decided to start Willy Kambwala for Man Utd today, he said that the teenager had a good training session with the first team during the week.
Erik ten Hag said: “He's calm, he's made a good impression in training”.
Although Erik ten admitted that the 19-year-old is inexperience playing in the Premier League but believes his quality and athleticism on the ball with be an advantage.
“Of course he's inexperienced and this is a big moment for him. He's athletic, calm on the ball, he has his opportunity now”, he told TNT.
Recall that Manchester United held Liverpool to a goalless draw last week. The Red Devils will be hoping to build on their performance against Jurgen Klopp's side.
