Nigeria Maintains Strong Foothold in FIFA Rankings
In the latest release by FIFA concluding the year 2023, Nigeria has solidified its standing, securing the 42nd position globally. The Men's senior team of Nigeria has demonstrated commendable prowess, maintaining a favorable position ahead of Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Cameroon in the FIFA Ranking.
Notably, the three-time African champions have sustained their position from the previous month, showcasing consistency in their performance. As the year comes to a close, Nigeria gears up for the upcoming AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast, with preparations underway for the anticipated campaign.
Under the leadership of José Peseiro, the Nigerian side is set to kick off their journey in the AFCON tournament against Ivory Coast in January, marking the opening game of Group A. Impressively, Peseiro’s team retains the sixth position in Africa, positioning themselves among the continent's football elite.
